Loading…Baby Base is South Africa’s marketplace for pre-loved baby and kids’ gear. Free to list, free to browse, handed over in person.
Babies outgrow things in months. The pram, the cot, the tiny jerseys — most of it has plenty of life left by the time your child is done with it.
Baby Base exists so that good gear moves from one family to the next instead of gathering dust in a cupboard. Parents list what they no longer need, other parents find it at a fraction of the new price, and everyone meets in person to hand it over.
We’re a small team in South Africa who have done the cupboard clear-out ourselves. No warehouse, no courier, no middleman — just a well-organised place for families to find each other.
Three steps, no fees, no card details.
Photograph the item in daylight, describe it honestly, choose a condition grade and set your price. A listing takes about five minutes and costs nothing — no listing fee, no commission, ever.
Buyers message you inside Baby Base. Answer questions, share extra photos, agree a price and a public place to meet. Keep the conversation on Baby Base so there’s a record.
Meet somewhere public, check the item together, then pay the seller directly — cash or an instant EFT you both see land. Baby Base never handles money. Our safety guide has the details.
Simple, and in writing.
Free to list. Free to browse. No listing fees, no commission, no paid “featured” spots.
No money passes through us. You agree a price with the other parent and pay them directly. If anyone claiming to be Baby Base asks you for a payment, it is not us.
Built for meeting in person. Every sale ends face to face, so you can check the pram folds, the seat clicks and the cot stands steady before a cent changes hands.
Honest condition grades. Every listing carries a condition grade chosen by the seller — and checked by you at handover.
A person on the other end. Report a listing or a user and a real person on the Baby Base team will look at it.
Parents, grandparents, carers — anyone with a cupboard full of outgrown gear, or a list of things a little one needs next.
If you’re selling: the garage pile, the pram in the hallway, the drawer of size 0–3 babygrows. Turn them into cash and space, and know they’re going to a family that needs them.
If you’re buying: the big-ticket items that cost a fortune new — prams, car seats, cots, high chairs — plus clothes, toys and everything for the messy months, from families near you.
We read every message.
